SukaldeUSA: The Shop That Helps Create Dream Kitchens

What We Represent

What is SukaldeUSA? Let us break it down for you. For those who don’t speak the Basque language, Sukalde means kitchen. Sukalde is a word that originates from the Basque country, a region best known for its mouth-watering food and restaurants. And to top it off, we added USA at the end because we are a South Florida based company, passionate about instilling the esteemed Basque values surrounding their love of food with every kitchen appliance we sell!

The Basque Country

The Basque Country’s rich culture, language, and traditions are worth learning about and reveling in. The Basque Country is located in northern Spain, bordering on France and the coast of the Bay of Biscay. Given that the Basque people are the oldest surviving ethnic group in Europe, the Basque language - Euskera - is one of the oldest languages spoken to this day, although there are currently seven different dialects spoken across different areas of the region.  Food plays a huge role in Basque culture as many consider the art of eating a valued pastime. With over 1,000 gourmet societies throughout the Basque country called txokos where locals get together to eat, drink, and socialize, it is clear that Basque people's love for food is unmatched.

The Basque Cuisine

Basque cuisine is highly influenced by the plethora of produce from the sea on one side, and the abundant Ebro valley on the other. The three provinces of the Basque Country- Álava, Guipúzcoa, and Vizcaya- have shaped the Basque cuisine into the culinary powerhouse it is today. The differences in cuisines across the regions range from coastal cuisine (fish and seafood) to inland cuisine (fresh and cured meats, vegetables, freshwater fish, and salt cod). Some famous Basque dishes that foodies rave about include Bakalao Vizcaina (cod served with a tomato and choricero pepper sauce), Marmitako (fish stew made with tuna, potatoes, onions, garlic, and red peppers), and Angulas a la cazuela (baby eels, garlic, hot pepper flakes, olive oil, and salt).Their flavorful dishes have earned Basque food the reputation of being one of the most iconic cuisines in the world.

We are proud to represent and integrate into our brand a culture that transcends culinary norms to achieve global recognition for their extraordinary cuisine. Our goal here at SukaldeUSA is to set you up with the tools to create your dream kitchen, a sacred space where you can achieve culinary greatness with each high-quality kitchen appliance we provide!
